True Lies
This is certainly something. Non of the performers bar JLC were convincing at all and the action feels so silly it almost feels like a parody at times, but I can see why some enjoy this. It’s almost so bad at times that it’s funny, and at some points the plot just seems to completely lose track before coming back together at the end. It’s funny but I’ll definitely die before I watch this again.

Oue c'est un film d'action des années 90 avec tous ses hauts et ses gros bas (pas surprenant que le second acte soit inconfortable sur le traitement de Harry envers sa femme venant du mec qui a divorcé 3 fois avant la sortie du film), le plus mauvais Cameron que j'ai pu voir mais ça reste un film sympa et plutôt drôle parfois malgré ses côtés datés et problématiques. Côté technique hormis que j'ai vu le remaster IA de merde, c'est vraiment clean surtout sur les scènes de nuits. Udah beberapa kali rewatch ini masih enjoy aja, peran Tom Arnold sebagai Sidekick oke banget lucu aja disandingin sama Arnold Schwarzenegger untuk jadi partner intelejen, Jamie lee Curtis juga di sini malah jadi istri lugu yang terlibat perselingkuhan tapi ujung-ujungnya akward bgt. Ini film emang plot utamanya spy dan teroris sih, tapi gw lebih tertarik ke permasalahan keluarga si Arnold ini. Scene favorit gw di film ini yaitu tango dance yg dibawakan Arnold di opening dan ending film sama scene hotel room yang dibawakan Jamie lee Curtis. Untuk Action Comedy Okelah👌🏻

70/100 I first watched this film as a kid and all I remember was the Jamie Lee Curtis scene… so hot. Look I know it’s quite a dumb film but fuck it, it’s a comedy and it does the job well. I loved it. Plus these classic action comedies are just special man, there’s thrill, it’s light hearted and you know no one’s gonna die so a happy ending altogether, basically a feel-good film all the time. The best part is Arnold can never express any level of emotion and that’s what makes it so funny. Also, in the first half, it seemed like Arnold was gonna go Terminator on them any second. Jamie Lee Curtis says ‘I married Rambo.’ No bitch you married the fuckin Terminator. Also when there’s a slow-mo shot in a James Cameron film, you know shit is about to go down. Look this is arguably his worst film but it’s not a bad film by any means, I know he just wanted to have some fun making a film and this was it.

It maybe runs a bit long, and has some problematic stuff in it, but damn if it isn’t a helluva good time still. Has Arnie ever been more charming? The motorcycle/horse chase is still fucking great. Big Jim is the best.

all i could think about when jaime put on her black dress was the edit of the scene i saw years ago set to ride or die by megan thee stallion and how i tweeted it every time i went out to the club or to get [redacted]...anyway! incredibly fun performances from arnold and jaime lee, and great bombastic action (that entire third act was an adreneline shot to the chest). did you expect me to say anything different? it's james fucking cameron. y'all better act like you know

An irrevocably macho, stylish, and cheesy film in the only ways aJames Cameronfilm can be, True Liesmay not be a perfect movie - and it certainly isn’t Jimmy’s best - but damn is it fun. I don’t have much to say about the film itself, but I will take some time to talk a bit about the new 4K release of it. This transfer is what you would call a mixed bag - until now the only release we’ve seen for True Lieswas a 480p DVD “BluRay” (a bootleg from Spain, no less), but we can now thank Jimmy for this brand-spanking new release…right? Well, far be it from me to speak on what looks good in a new transfer, especially when this was approved by James freaking Cameron, but this looks like a sanded turd. Aggressive DNR is all over this film, making characters and objects seem waxy and overly smooth. Very disheartening to see. Why, you might ask? I wish I knew. It seems our cinematic heroes, like Jimmy and Peter Jackson,simply despise the inherent nature of cinematic grain when using film. It’s not as bad as the horrid Terminator 2 4K, but still. C’mon man.
