Probably the best Bond ever made in many respects, this one is truly amazing. Vesper Lynd is one of the characters in any Bond, and Daniel Craig is perfect. Le Chiffre is a great villain, there isn’t much more to say. Perfectection.

Checking in one last time on this rough-around-the-edges-lost-in-some-feels Bond. Some great action set pieces (very "readable" given the era's shift towards frenetic editing), but we also just liked how he drives a rental Ford and gets confused for a valet. The Mads Mikkelsen ball-tickling has aged well. Ultimately we stopped the movie once he and Vesper get together and he quits MI-6, content to imagine their remaining globe-trotting meanders and James eventually having to figure out how to be a house-husband.

(Seeing it again in the immediate aftermath of the last 40+ years of this rather shitty franchise, it answers the question of "What to do with Bond?" better than GoldenEye. Fitting for the director to get a second go with a new decade and a new introspection.)

I've only ever seen the old James Bond films, so seeing a new one for the first time was a cool experience. Casino Royale, in particular, is probably one of the best James Bond films ever.

Yet another James Bond is being released, so I decided to watch all of the Daniel Craig Bond films! Casino Royale is stunning. The action is jaw-dropping, the imagery is beautiful, and the plot is extremely intriguing. The new Bond is very interesting, as well as being more fresh than the "old" Bond's. Mads Mikkelsen was amazing, making Le Chiffre a very intriguing villain. Altogether, Casino Royale was stunning, balancing action with suspense and anxiety, as well as having a plot that actually is interesting and compelling. This film set a very high precedent for the rest of the movies, which I am eager to get to, despite already having watching Skyfall.
