I'm not the biggest one on the Borderlands franchise (I've played a few hours of the second game and have the Tiny Tina spin-off waiting at my Steam backlog), so I'm neither very aware of the lore and story of the thing, nor invested in the characters. So, having people who visually and tonally don't really fit the game characters isn't a big problem with me. That being said, this thing is a diarrhea. From the very first scene till the last (or at least, the last I saw, cause to be honest, I couldn't punish myself with the entire thing), the "jokes" are flatter than dunno what, wanna say a flat white, but that's not flat at all. Phew, I guess I made a Borderlands joke. Guess the terribleness of thing is contagious.

This could have been so great; maybe with a different cast/director, better plot, more gore and an R rating. Jack Black as Claptrap? Insufferable. Also no Handsome Jack? Huge missed opportunity. All that being said, going into it with rock-fucking-bottom expectations: it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. Was it good? No. Am I glad it exists? Sure. Do I think it could’ve been an absolute masterpiece if it had been more like a Deadpool movie? Absolutely. The semi-accurate gun designs, and Marcus earned it an extra half star.
