The Circle
There was so much potential for The Circle. Rather than focusing on the implications of privacy and how much people are willing to give up, the film went in a completely opposite direction, focusing on revenge rather than becoming the satire that it could have been. With starts like Tom Hanks and John Boyega, you'd think that they'd get a lot of screen time, but both are sadly cut short, with Boyega only having a couple of scenes, seeming to waste his acting, while still being billed as one of the top actors in the film. The end really did seem like a cop-out, where there really could have been something interesting there. Having read parts of the novel, I was excited to see how this was translated onto the big screen, but sadly this film does not live up to its true potential.
