Took a while to get there (definitely shouldn't have been 1hr50), but yep, that is both 1) at least the third-best Hellraiser film, and 2) what I expected and wanted out of the The Night House director making a Hellraiser film, certainly delivering in the third act. Also felt almost like a Thirteen Ghosts sequel!

Gonna' have to echo the general sore points about the sex-less/kink-less aspects of Cenobite this-or-that, but overall it was pretty neat. Don't mind the new lore stuff, we'll always have our original insatiable Frank & Friends to fall back on.

Unfortunately, the best scenes are any with the cenobites; everything else in between is mediocre at best. The final act is splendidly superb though, which elevates this rating up a notch (that and the practical effects). Overall, it’s a solid reboot that checks all the right boxes.

Even though I enjoyed it and am willing to watch it again, I feel it doesn't have enough body horror or was toned down. That's honestly the only negative(?) thing I could say about this version of Hellraiser.
