Some of the Mamet-iest Mamet to ever Mamet. Macy is really good here, but everything else is just kind of…whatever. The direction is uninspired, and while they’re not selling to the back of the theater, the film still feels very stage-y. While not necessarily allowing for as much to expand as GLENGARRY, that film is certainly instructive in how to bring the small contained work, into a larger world. Of course, one could argue that this is the problem that plagues writers turned directors, they fall in love with their words and worlds and lose the forest for the trees.
