Diary entries forRogue One: A Star Wars Story
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
That first scene and the entire last act made this worthwhile
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Thanks for pausing a few moments longer on those spacescapes and landscapes so I can actually look at 'em.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Finished up Andor proper so returning a final time for the narrative closure. (And tonal whiplash!) Even the spectacle is starting to dim, but at least it blew open the door for the years-long-acid-in-the-belly-of-Mon-Mothma reckoning that was to come.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Point-at-the-reference-on-the-screen kinda' movie and goddamnit why am I still tearing up by the end of it. I can say I've left Star Wars behind... but have I truly forsaken the rebellion and its sacrifices? Signs point to not quite. And this in spite of what they did to Peter Cushing, surely among the Great Sins of the franchise. You know, concurrently sliding through a RE-WATCH of Andor (as total non-fans do, ofc) has called attention to some distant itch, and I am wondering if the irritant in question relates to some of the old SW books I last looked through 25 years ago. That more intimate, powerful, and powerfully *weird* material, from a time where Disney's world-gobbling wasn't even a remote factor. In any event, caught up in the spectacle of Rogue One's back half if nothing else. Flipping my two nickles now for Donnie Yen playing blind badasses.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Nunca imaginé que me iba a gustar tanto algo de star wars en la que no salieran chorrocientas espaditas de colores por segundo
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
continua sendo um dos melhores filmes de star wars
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
An excellent 1st entry in the Star Wars anthology series. This movie had a lot of heart, and a lot of fun characters. While it did drag for the first half, I must say the 2nd half blew me away. I may have witnessed the best space battle put to film, ever.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
A fantastic entry into the franchise, closing a huge plot hole for the original trilogy. One of the most visually dynamic films, and diverse cast, making it one of the stronger films in the Star Wars series.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
2016 gave fans a surprise with Rogue One : A Star Wars Story, a film that managed to fix one of the biggest plot holes Star Wars had. Rogue One tells the story of how they got the plans for the Death Star in the first place, and it's actually one of the best adventure stories I've seen in a while. It's always nice getting to see something new from something people absolutely love, especially in a way that ties it together to make the entire series make a little more sense. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a fantastic addition to the Star Wars universe and really is a treat to watch before getting into the original trilogy.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
It seems that seeing a Star Wars film is now going to be a tradition in my family. For the second year in a row, my grandfather has treated us to a Star Wars related film. He brought my father to the first Star Wars films when he was little, and wanted to do the same with his grandchildren. As each year passes, my interest in the Star Wars universe grows, making me want to revisit the original films every time I see one. As I grew up watching these films, it's always a treat to see a new one on the screen, especially something like Rogue One. Rogue One is exactly what its name states; it's a rogue film. It's different, despite the fact that there are some visits from some very familiar faces. Its story is something new, as it doesn't further the story that The Force Awakens put out, but adds more depth to the story told between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It doesn't do much for the actual series, but gives more depth for the actual characters that were overlooked in the original films. The visuals were different as well. Rogue One was vibrant, colors just seeming to leap off the screen. When thinking of the original films. I recall them being more dull, with only parts of the films being in bright environments. Rogue One begins bleak, but picks up into beautiful colorful environments until the finale. The various locations are extremely stunning, each having a similar color palate that made them really distinct. It's really nice to see the film be extremely colorful, showing many of the different worlds that are there in the Star Wars world. The characters were extremely captivating to watch as well. Each of them were unique and distinct, with lots of them being the focus of the film, instead of just one protagonist. A group ensemble really does work for this, as it's more of a story of the rebellion, just with a focus on the characters in the rebellion. The original films, as well as the remakes, seem to focus on one character, while Rogue One had a focus on a character in a group of equally important characters. The cast for the film was fantastic as well. There has been a major push for more diversity in film, and Rogue One is a fantastic example of how you can diversify a cast and still have a great film. It's always really nice to see a film that has a large cast that varies, just as it works in the real world. There is more to the Star Wars universe than what has been shown, so it's nice to see a small portion of what is out in this massive universe. Star Wars is a series that has been revitalized. After the prequels, which weren't what they could have been when compared to the originals, it's great to see that Star Wars is finally getting the proper treatment. There are many more stories that can be told, and Rogue One is one fantastic story that needed to be told. As per usual, I'm extremely excited to see the next Star Wars movie, and I hope that they do make some more spin-off films that are as good as Rogue One was, telling even more captivating stories. Rogue One was a great film to break up the wait before Episode VIII is released next year.
