Insomnia
An exciting thriller which keeps you hooked from minute one until the end, Christopher Nolan’s Insomnia is great. The acting is amazing, with Al Pacino giving one of his best performances. The story is interesting and unique, making this a timeless classic.

Insomnia
A really cool film with Al Pacino and Robin Williams. I especially liked the dark atmosphere and the beautiful Alaskan scenery. It reminded me of Twin Peaks because of the similar story elements. All in all, a rather unknown Nolan film, but by no means bad; in fact, a truly commendable film from him.

Insomnia
Insomnia was cool. Pacino killed it, Robin Williams was creepy good and the no night Alaska vibe made it tense. Not Nolan’s best but a good time pass.

72/100 Check out Nolan ranked - https://boxd.it/nZQKA Perhaps Nolan's weakest film but not a bad film by any means. I will not be watching Following so I will not consider that. It took me a while to watch this and I really don't know why because Nolan is my favorite director and who doesn't appreciate Al Pacino on screen! I think what makes this slightly uninteresting is the script, there is no sense of mystery for most of the film, the villain in Robin Williams is not menacing and Al Pacino really does carry the film. He delivers from start to finish, insomnia is one hell of a drug and I think he transports the transition effectively on screen. This movie is not detailed, it even skips past some to get where it wants. The location like in Queer that I just saw does half of the leg work to give this a sense of seriousness. Maybe I am holding Nolan to his highest standards because he did release Memento before this and the Prestige after this but he doesn't particularly shine in any way, I would imagine any competent director doing a good job on this film.
Insomnia
Watched this at 7am with no sleep, and zero focus basically the same condition Al Pacino was in. Somehow finished it. The pacing drags more than it should for a Nolan film but the story holds up. He knows how to build tension even when he's going slow. Robin Williams playing a criminal feels genuinely wrong in the best way. Your brain keeps waiting for him to smile and say something warm and he never does. That discomfort is the whole point. Decent film. Nolan being a genius as usual.
