Gangs of New York
*clink clink* goes the eyeball. Sets and characters galore!
Gangs of New York
Gangs of New York is visually impressive and full of strong performances, especially from Daniel Day-Lewis. The atmosphere and setting are great, though the story feels a bit messy and overlong at times. Overall, Gangs of New York is an ambitious film that works more for its characters and style than for its narrative.

Gangs of New York
Martin Scorsese creates a view of New York that isn't the typical glamorous New York City. Corruption, violence and romance encompass this entire period piece. Leonardo DiCaprio gives one of his best performances that I have seen. This happens to be my first Daniel Day Lewis film, and I am speechless at his performance. I can't wait to see the other movies that he is in. Cameron Diaz honestly got on my nerves throughout the film, but I don't see anyone else playing Jenny Everdeane. Scorsese is an amazing director who deserves the 10 Oscar nominations this film got.

Gangs of New York
this was the beginning of Leo shouting with a knife in his hand. For me, Bill is the main character of the story ✌
Gangs of New York
❝When you kill a king, you don't stab him in the dark. You kill him where the entire court can watch him die.❞ ∘₊──── • ♧ • ✧ • ♧ • ────₊∘ I had high expectations for Gangs of New York since it's a Scorsese, and features a lot of great actors, but I was a bit disappointed. In my opinion, it was too short to cover all the themes it mentioned properly (but the run-time it did have felt like forever), and there was too much focus on the romance between Amsterdam and Jenny because it added literally nothing. Daniel Day-Lewis honestly carried most of the cast; DiCaprio's performance certainly wasn't his best and his voiceover was kinda bad. I wish Liam Neeson had more scenes because he had more presence than half the other actors. The sets and costumes were excellent, and I liked the music, but overall not the best use of almost three hours.
Gangs of New York
Daniel Day-Lewis should have gotten the Oscar for this, he’s literally the only thing good in here. Of course much of it is shot well, it is Marty after all, but outside of that, it’s pretty damn bad. DiCaprio is surprisingly bad here, and Diaz gets blown of the screen by basically everyone. If not for DDL, this would easilybe in the conversation for Scorsese’s worst film.
