I agonized for a bit over whether to give this a 4 or 5, and in the end settled with 4 because the length Did negatively affect it in my opinion. Also the story sucked. But! This is probably not just the best, but the most perfect, DC film yet if you look past the story. The underwater world was breathtaking at times. Momoa surprised in a starring role, even after being one of the very very very few positives I found in Justice League. And the Black Manta fight was one of my fav fight scenes in a while from a superhero film Maybe I'm overrating it because it's a DC film I found more positives in than not, and that's a rare beast in itself that I've been hoping to find for quite some time. Maybe I'm just glad they finally got one right. I'll never doubt James Wan again

Aquaman is a trainwreck of a film. Seeming to completely ditch the efforts of creating captivating backstories, they decided to go with a generic origin story that left me wanting so much more. When a Pitbull song starts to play halfway through the film you know that you can’t take it that seriously. The land action scenes definitly are noteworthy, with Wan’s sense of direction really coming to the forefront. Willem Dafoe honestly kept me watching the film, and was my main reason for actually finishing the film. Overall, there was potential for a good film, but they really dropped the ball here. (I know that they were discussing a Black Manta film, which I’d be very interested to see.)

Cometi o erro de ter enrolado 7 anos pra ver, pq achei que o filme era fraco, mas o filme é bom. A direção e a fotografia aqui são asurdas. James Wan sabe muito.

Bad but better than I expected. They interrupt conversations with explosions 4 times in this movie, I counted. Still better than Justice League lol
