Diary entries forLet It Snow
Let It Snow
Lesbian couple played by actual queers, Kiernan Shipka being incredible and so so funny, a bunch of catchy music, a bunch of adorable charm for a straight-to-streaming film, and Joan Cusack playing a conspiracy theorist wrapped in tinfoil? I finally found a modern Christmas film I love with my whole heart, I'm not letting any cynics take this from me
Let It Snow
I actually enjoyed taking a traditional premise (killer stalking tourist who's in over their head in a place they're unfamiliar with) and putting it in a beautiful, atmospheric mountain slope location mid-winter. And not just doing the traditional trope where the tourist endures Hostel levels of torture porn for the crime of Not Being A Local, either But goddamn did they suck the fun out of it by having every scene past the first third of the film drag out minutes longer than it needed to And I could have overlooked the predictable ending (because at least it was exciting/interesting enough to still stand out amidst the preceding hour) if it hadn't immediately been cancelled out by a baffling logic-defying post-credits scene
Let It Snow
watching this made me want to play in the snow.
