Bone Tomahawk
I don't know what it is, but I just can't like Westerns. Bone Tomahawk isn't just a Western though. It's a hybrid of horror and Western, which is something that's not seen too often. I was really intrigued to see how this was going to be, since there could be some amazing things done with this combination. And, I was disappointed. I just didn't enjoy it. I was hoping for something that the film wasn't. I was expecting a lot of horror, not just a couple scenes. The scenes with horror included were just decent, nothing much to write about. Maybe I just don't like this movie because it's part Western? I don't know. All I know is that this is an interesting combination that has potential, but this film just doesn't quite hit it.
Bone Tomahawk
well that was…racist
Bone Tomahawk
Easily the best Zahler movie, truly was never bored during this one. Great cast, Patrick Wilson is a national treasure and needs to be in more stuff. 8/10

Cult of Personality 2024 (https://letterboxd.com/allbeef/list/cult-of-personality-2024/) #50 of 52 | Kurt Russell (https://letterboxd.com/actor/kurt-russell/) With the exception of some boring camera work, subpar acting minus the top-billed 4, and "too-clean" cinematography (besides a couple good shots), this is a pretty excellent western/horror/romance/thriller/drama and a great directorial debut no less. THAT scene and several others indeed left my stomach doing flips, and any movie that can do that to me is at least an automatic 4-star rating.
Bone Tomahawk
It’s been nearly seven years since director Craig S. Zahler’s last film, and revisiting his debut has truly reignited my appetite for more. I first saw Bone Tomahawk back around 2015 or 2016 and vividly remember being captivated by it. I’ve been meaning to rewatch this for a while now, but the timing just never felt right. Last Saturday I had some friends over, and after a few drinks and a screening of Garry Marshall’sThe Princess Diaries, I felt like it was the perfect moment to follow up with something completely different — and so here we are. Maybe it’s because Bone Tomahawk is a Western — my favorite genre — or maybe it’s Kurt Russell’s majestic beard, but the film has stayed with me ever since I first saw it. Despite its obvious low budget,Craig S. Zahler does an incredible job at creating an effective atmosphere. The way he manages to capture the isolation and ominous sense of the barren desert is truly fantastic. A lot of the credit has to go to cinematographer Benji Bakshi, whose understated yet powerful visual style really shines, particularly in the way he lights scenes with soft, diffused rays of light that really elevate the moody ambience. Bone Tomahawk is an outstanding film, packed with incredible performances (seriously, why isn’t Matthew Fox in more movies?) and some top-tier direction. Craig S. Zahler has quickly become one of my favorite directors working today, and I simply couldn’t be more excited to see what he makes next. ⏵ SPOOKTOBER 2024 (https://boxd.it/zfHxS)
Bone Tomahawk
Frontera Canibal es un Road film western gore muy bien logrado y perfectamente equilibrado, sin duda una propuesta interesante que por momentos logra cosas diferentes y bastante potentes.
