Phenomena
This might just be the ultimate 80s slasher movie. It has all the key ingredients to it. A young girl, with special abilities, oversea at a boarding school, who befriends a wise older scientist with a direct connection to the murders. I mean, come on! This was made in a lab, with the best people to make it. It's a thrilling movie from beginning to end, and Jennifer Connelly is outstanding in the role. Goblin's soundtrack is also stellar and really adds to the atmosphere of this isolated Swiss boarding school. One of Dario Argento best.
Phenomena
Lindo lindo lindo! P.s. A chimpanzé Inga foi luz demais pra mim!!!
Phenomena
"Dad said he got 12 presents that year, and Mom leaving him like that was the 13th" Bingeing Dario Argento films in a day and getting to Phenomena makes me think Phenomena is Argento at his dreamiest, most surreal. Maybe my least favorite of his best work, but that's a testament to how stellar the rest of his bests are more than anything else; also I don't do half star ratings, so I'm still more inclined to give this a 5 than a 4 For an hour I believed a monkey deserved a Best Actor Oscar
Phenomena
(https://youtu.be/IocoFJ8w-hQ?t=52&si=T8TJ7sC1QKa6lgu_)
Phenomena
Phenomena is Argento at his best. Each Argento film has a unique style, this one following closely to that of Opera. It has the same aspects as his earlier works, with a new look, abandoning the colorful scenes to embrace more realistic settings. While I would have preferred to have the film have at least some interesting lighting, it didn't make the film any less enjoyable. Connolly, a year before her large film Labyrinth, seems like the perfect choice, having enough "umph" to keep the movie going. The score is fantastic, with some interesting choices for songs at odd times, but that just made the film even more unique. Phenomena isn't a Suspiria, but it's definitely one of Argento's best.

Phenomena
No Strings Attached: A Continuing List of Cherished Favorites (https://boxd.it/1fXU8) Revisiting Dario Argento's supernatural twister of a giallo is one of the best things that have happened to me this year. Phenomena is magnetic and malicious, trotting out gorgeous flails of violence and imagery in a unsettling and the next magical experience of sense and sight. The dialogue is iffy and the acting isn't the best—however, it almost emits the dreamlike qualities that accustom a lot of Argento's work—really, the director's greatest flairs are the fairy-tale nature and the imagery that goes with it. His attention to creating awe in scenes with each electric touch of phenomenal atmosphere and shots is absorbing as hell. I cheered, cringed, and was even shocked at times throughout, which is what you want with a supernatural premise as cool as this. 4.4/5
