Terminator: Dark Fate
You'll hear a million times the most accurate ways to describe Terminator Dark Fate: "it's not as good as the first two, but it's better than every other Terminator since" and "by all rights that shouldn't have taken much to pull off" Linda Hamilton is funny. Arnold Schwarzenegger is arguably funnier than he's ever been. This is the scariest a Terminator villain has been in a while. Again though: that shouldn't have taken effort to do Some semi-interesting concepts are pulled off amid the humor and entertaining action: what if a Terminator completed its mission? Can it find its purpose? Can it even find redemption in a future it never prepared for? But of course there needs to be a villain, so the future doesn't really completely change: Skynet just happens again anyway, just with a new name this time, and a young lady immigrant in place of teen John Connor Does it matter? Does any of this really matter? You bring back Linda, Cameron, CG teen Furlong, Arnold (again), all under a new coat of paint...and still get a film that ends up being worse in quality, and less fun, than Terminator 2 If this is the best a modern Terminator film, a Terminator film post-release of T2 Judgment Day, can be: good on them for pulling off something this decent after way too many attempts. Now take the series out back and put it down for good. The magic can't be reclaimed, every trick has now been pulled to try. It's still not enough. Sometimes the future can't be changed

What Dark Fate is that? The slow march of this franchise? Breaking out the Arnold one more time, but at least this one snuck a peek and copied from T2's homework.

This... was a fucking train wreck. Now, where the fuck do I even start? They did John Connor DIRTY!!! I cannot believe James Cameron, who criticized David Fincher for killing off Newt and Hicks in Alien 3, was perfectly okay with killing off THE CENTRAL FIGURE OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!!!! I really didn’t care for any of the new characters. They were so cookie-cutter and two-dimensional. And the action scenes are so disinteresting. The CGI is so awful, especially in the airplane sequence. Even the rooftop scene in Matrix Reloaded looks better than this shit. And to top it all off, it’s a rehash of the first two movies. All in all, this sequel was nothing but a big “fuck you” to the fans.

What a redundant re-tread. Nothing about this was new or exciting. And because there’s nothing new to explore, the story is underwritten as it’s relying so heavily on what we’ve already seen before. Just stop making these movies, my god.

Its fine. Its not a trash movie a la Genysis or T3. Its not a great sequel. Its a decent action movie. Thats it. Now let this franchise die please. Cameron, please, just write the Alita sequels.
