Casablanca
why? đą
Casablanca
watched another classic. again, im ok with calling this a classic. it being old was not distracting - which is why ill say timeless. black and white, grainy, old accents, saw past it all. i was engaged and entertained. rick had aura (lol)- i like the character. fair share of funny moments in the dialogue. and that was well written. characters had distinct personalities that were introduced well and explored throughout. i wasnât blown away by the ending, which is only thing preventing the 5 stars. feels like it almost had me, but concluded in a way that was slightly disappointing. nonetheless, i wasnât mad at it. contextually a somewhat bold film i think, but makes sense given the era. i appreciated - as is usual when watching these perennials for the first time - the origins of references i have seen but never understood (hereâs looking at you kid, start of a friendship etc)
Casablanca
âweâll always have parisâ thereâs a ridiculous amount of lines in this movie that have the staying power of a beached whale. ingrid bergman was literally shining the entire movie - why is she the only character basically that gets these magestic closeups - like i get it - but it got funny at a point. beautiful story, lighting and camera movement brings so much life that you forget itâs black and white very quickly. the influence of the movie obviously cannot be understated, and itâs cool to see how the movies of today had much of there dialogue, style and much more from a movie 80+ years old. the comedy holds up very well, everyone for the most part is funny in many different ways. i wonder if this story would have been the same if the hays code didnât force the plot in the directions it had to. maybe maybe not.
Casablanca
An American classic, this film was released during the Second World War, and heavily focuses on what life was like during the Nazi occupation of Casablanca. A romantic thriller, the storytelling is superb and the plot is enthralling. Beautiful in every way.

weâll always have paris. going to lay down for a while
Casablanca
This movie was just sooo mesmerizing. There is something about classic films that feels sooo soothing, and dont get me started about the ending of this one! It was particularly moving the way he decided to leave her. Loved it!
Casablanca
at the beginning part i find it quite hard to follow along, i was confused as to what was going on, but i think everything came together splendidly at the end.
