High Noon
grace kelly you incredible woman
High Noon
Western classic, High Noon is a brilliant film in every way. The story, although simple, is gripping and interesting, with great acting from Grace Kelly and Gary Cooper. The ending is also fitting, with the sheriff tossing his badge to the floor.
High Noon
“If you don’t know, I can’t explain it to you.” All due respect to Grace Kelly, but Katy Jurado stole the show. One of the most beautiful women I’ve seen on film, wow. Regarding HIGH NOON itself, I’m thoroughly whelmed and underjoyed. An amazing premise—with complementary editing and tight pacing—that collapses under its own weight. Perhaps I feel this way due to the bare bones, simple way it explores the western genre, or perhaps it’s the third act leaving me dissatisfied. Probably both. But the film has its moments…

Film School Drop Outs Weekly Challenge (https://letterboxd.com/goghaliens/list/film-school-drop-outs-weekly-challenge-2019) Week 15: Composer - Dimitri Tiomkin [Writes all 'Do Not Forsake Me, O My Darlin' lyrics here] The aforementioned song works on so many levels - it's basically the heart of this film. Lending High Noon emotional weight as Tex Ritter's voice sings the conflict at the centre of this plot, and its instrumental version—an interesting part of an otherwise generic score—adds gravitas to scenes as well as a sense of nostalgia, as Cooper runs around the town to get people to stand by him & defeat the threat, that is, the returning criminal who is intent on killing him, and possibly disrupting Hadleyville's peace. Overall, the music was successful in pulling my attention, but not always in retaining it. Having Grace Kelly and Gary Cooper (kept calling him Gregory Peck and had to correct myself every time smh) leading the roles, and a short running time, definitely work in its favour. Also, I kind of liked Grace Kelly's costume, she really was a fashion icon in all her films, huh?! Anyways, it started and ended on a high note!!
High Noon
A la Hora señalada es un western conciso y contundente, con el argumento solido el director Fred Zinneman juega con una dirección impecable en un film poco convencional para su género resaltando decisiones audaces para lograr un increible ejecución.
High Noon
Perhaps this isn’t my type of movie at all, but to be honest i’d rather watch Chapolin Colorado’s westerns episodes than this movie. I mean, Chespirito’s scripts were quite funny in the end and this whole thing was only heavily boring to me. For me, the only good thing in this movie was Grace Kelly. Her talented os truly a delight, I’m glad i’m having the opportunity to watch her!
High Noon
This had too much buildup for my liking. I guess that’s the point of the movie, but I would have preferred less running around and more fighting. As to the fighting scene(s), I was not impressed at all. Whatever. This was fine, but not a top Western that I was somewhat expecting or at least hoping for. 6.7
High Noon
it’s good just! really fucking preachy like there’s literally a preacher in the middle of the movie who has a monologue there are way more subtle ways to communicate your point!
