Hard to Die

A Bay of Blood: A Ranking of Slashers (1974 - 1990) (http://boxd.it/IoH8) Jim Wynorski gets together the same cast and even the same plot as his hilarious Sorority House Massacre II for an unsurprising feast of babes, frights, and aimless firing skills that scream B-movie madness. For an annoying stretch of time Hard to Die seems to tease the audience with the sluggish pace and lack of action—yes, the poster lies, but the title does not. Before the spooks and generic slasher movie comes into focus, the female leads have enough time to shower and to change into launderette, which in hindsight, was totally foreseeable. It somewhat makes up for the pacing issues with the batshit finale that really shines a light on the nonsensical title—picture two guns and a shit ton of flying bullets. And because of that, the movie is perhaps worth the watch. 2.3/5
