Italian classic horror, BABL is a typical slasher but that’s by no means a bad thing. Good acting and beautiful colours, there’s lots to love in this. I don’t think it does anything out of the ordinary but it’s still an entertaining watch and a good film.

Bava sendo um pai pra nós fãs de Giallo e que viram toda, ou quase toda, a filmografia do Argento. O exagero do burlesco na hora de retratar um filme e uma indústria da moda, de forma que retrata vício, fome de poder e a busca por apagar uma prova ou uma testemunha de algo extremamente amoral. O a figura do assassino de sobretudo, luvas pretas e uma máscara branca que não tem espaço pra expressões humanas cria uma atmosfera de sobrenatural que funciona perfeitamente. A direção de Bava é algo que te encanta, desde as composições a até as pistas que ele solta ao longo da narrativa, em sua maioria falsas, mas que quando chega no final é tão bom quanto surpreendente e que se repetiu mais a frente com outros diretores. As cores primárias que ganham foco e a montagem que brinca com silhuetas e sombras o tornam, antes de tudo, um show visual. O exagero dos atos é tão burlesco quanto incríveis. Um filmão.

incredibly stylish giallo. great use of color in this one. good whodunit element that really keeps you guessing. the killer’s design was very unique too, especially liked that element.

quite an enjoyable who-dun-it murder mystery. also, my second giallo ever i think? it's quite fast-paced and makes u keep guessing who really is the culprit. (although i kind of figured it all out in the end..) the sets and colors in this really pop out and some of the lasting shots are really beautiful like the one at the end with the telephone swinging from side-to-side. the ending wasn't what i hoped for and was the weakest part of the whole film to me. the diary felt very significant to me and then it was just thrown out of the story in the middle of it. just like at the start of the movie, i wish it had more focus on it during the whole thing. it was also somewhat difficult to really follow what each person was hiding and after watching i still don't remember the secrets majority of the cast were hiding. i was rooting for peggy soo bad.. just for her to be done dirty.. justice for my girl, justice for peggy.
