God, I was so wrong about this film. To be completely honest, I thought I was going to absolutely hate this film, let alone give it 4.5 stars. But boy, was I wrong. Straight Outta Compton is another biographical film, this time about the notorious group N.W.A. I only knew a little about them, not even knowing how many of them were in the group, only knowing a couple of their songs. I believe this is why I enjoyed it so much, since I got to learn brand new things about the group that I knew completely nothing about. The acting was fantastic. I was extremely surprised to see such great performances, as I thought the performances were going to be mediocre going into it. But, they were actually some of the better performances of 2015. I do feel that Straight Outta Compton should have been nominated some more, particularly in the technical aspects of the film. The direction was fantastic, with some great cinematography as well. I wouldn't have done soundtrack, but score would have been something else I could have seen nominated. As for the performances, I don't know who I would have nominated, but I do feel that these performances could have been noted with a nomination. Surprisingly, Straight Outta Compton was a fantastic film. I never lost interest, as I was constantly bombarded with new, interesting information. If I had watched it in 2015, Straight Outta Compton may have been the surprise film of the year.

Complicado de puntuar. Es EL biopic musical para mí, por lo que significa esta música y la cultura que se ha creado a su alrededor. La historia como tal funciona claro, no me convence tanto como está estructurada (pringaos -> leyendas -> inconveniente -> ruina -> drama que reúne a todos los personajes de nuevo -> gana ma amistad). Es buena eso sí, me lo he pasado pipa

Detroit with a horrible look lmao. This was an incredibly detailed looked at the rise and fall of N.W.A. and the misfit of individuals that comprised the group. LA police was and still is insane and not the good type of insane. I enjoyed the music scenes in this; unfortunately, there wasn’t too much of that in this close to 2.5 hour movie. Yes; it was too long. Yes; there was some really fine acting by the main cast. Yes; I enjoyed this movie. One of the best to do it… RIP N.W.A. 7.5
