Diary entries forShock Waves
Shock Waves
This is my first classic Nazi zombie film, and man, what a riot this ended up being! Rather than relying on heavy amounts of gore, Shock Wave sets up an impressive amount of atmosphere to create some truly badass zombies. I actually enjoyed this film a lot, and will have to visit it again in the future, since it really ended up being a fun film!
Shock Waves
I never understood why it took so long for these B horror movies to set up because the bitch deserved to die in the end. In the first 30 minutes or so, you get no scene set up and very week setting development that when the zombies arrived, I expected them to look more threatening. I see the vision in a Hellraiser (https://letterboxd.com/film/hellraiser/) (perhaps where this film inspires) kind of way: sleek black goggles, pale plain flesh, slow-death movements. But it ends with much dissatisfaction, as you can clearly see our heroine does nothing to save her comrades. She watches. And that's all that she is left to do. Watch, in horror, to escape. notes: never knew there was a sub-genre of zombie nazi films love far-right totalitarian as horror, but make it tropical!
