Jump Tomorrow

There’s a sensibility here that my tumblr ass would’ve eaten up. Films don’t look like this anymore. In humor, in color. Before there was Wes Anderson, there was this. There was Amelie (https://letterboxd.com/film/amelie/). There was a richness in wiggling out of the odd ends of the 90s to come to this. This was where feelings were. This is how we made ourselves laugh. This is how we felt. This is how we abstracted all of the difficult and made use of it in aesthetics. Tunde’s performance is Ayoade stiff, but charming enough with the faux Woody-wayfarer frames. Love the french. Love the 60s lounge music. Love the light screwball comedy. I loved life then. And here I am with so much change, aesthetics in and out. Wish I had this then, glad I watched it now.
