If you make another bomb, you’ll get spanked!” There’s a scene where Conrad comes into town to sing a song about sincerest that literally massacres the public, leaving bodies all and around city hall, in a lovesick daze that both haunts in the very Americana that music has always stood for in times of revolution, but also a cute satire as Elvis fanfic for tween girls of the 60s. The end is sloppy, nobody can sing, and honestly that whole scene with the fezes could’ve been cut because this film was too long for its own good.
