Fish Tank
appreciate the creative direction, but shit movie. Felt like a 2-hour-long headache.
Fish Tank
Andrea Arnold offers a very intimate look into real life. Having seen American Honey, it's clear to see that she wants to show what life is like for many people. These intimate viewings seem to be even more realistic with the camerawork, seeming to be right over a shoulder, truly getting to see what others are seeing. This tactic works wonders, creating very realistic worlds that almost anybody can relate to. Her look into young adults is very interesting, making films that seem to be aimed toward younger audiences, audiences that can better understand what is going on. Fish Tank shows that Arnold understands young audiences and is able to create very intimate worlds that really do mimic real life.

One simply doesn't play California Dreamin' just once, particularly in a film about lonely people, those are the rules and I respect 'em. Some moments in this are peak cinema!!
