King Kong

Films don’t come any more iconic than 1933s King Kong. A true masterpiece of it’s time which still holds up today. In my opinion this has to be one of the most important pieces of art to ever be made and it’s a joy to watch. Highly recommend.

King Kong

After watching Kong: Skull Island, I thought it would be a good idea to finally visit the origins Kong. While he may not be as terrifying and good looking as he is today, it's still a marvel that still manages to be captivating and inspirational. I would love to have seen what audiences thought when they first saw this in 1933, in awe of the effects and story. Today, you can see it is dated, but that doesn't make the film less enjoyable. I always usually love watching clsssic films, and I am extremely happy to love the original King Kong. Maybe it's finally time to watch the 70's version and rewatch Peter Jackson's adaptation. I've always had a love for King Kong and it's nice to finally see the film that is so iconic.

King Kong

I love this movie. I love when Kong is less realistic, when he has more personality. He’s more interesting, funny, and scary in this than in Jackson’s KONG. The effects still hold up pretty well, the animation of course isn’t as fluid as modern CG, but it’s pretty impressive in the climax when Kong stands atop the Empire State Building and Harryhausen has gone to the trouble of animating wind blowing through his fur. Such a damn great classic film. The King is dead, long live the King.

King Kong

most beautiful stop motion animation and composite work I've seen in any piece of vorare-micro-macrophilia fetish content. like i wonder how many 1933 freaks were awakened when that giant ape stepped on one of those lowkey racist depictions of native people and like slowly rubbed his body in the mud with his giant foot.... or like when he ate people.... or like took off the main girls clothes and ...tickled her (!?!?!) . honestly the cognitive dissonance of being disgusted by the strip tease via giant ape violation, impressed by the technical achievement of the illusion itself, and questioning the possible fetishes of all involved in its creation might be the most lasting feeling i take from this film... for better or worse... also this shit misogynistic af, approaching the point of parody, but unfortunately is also incredibly well made
