To even begin to make something like this work, you need a compelling voice as the DJ. Despite this being the first time I got to see him on-screen, within the first ten minutes I could already tell the voice of Stephen McHattie was compelling enough to make this work And honestly I'm just so glad this Did work. I never read the book this was based off of, but this was one of maybe a handful of zombie films in the last 10-11 years that managed to feel interesting, breathing much-needed new life (if only for two hours) into the subgenre

HOOPTOBER #3 ZOMBIE MOVIE 3 ______________ so far the most non-traditional zombie movie of the 5 i picked. not only are the “zombies” in this one not undead, but the infection is transmitted through words and not by any physical means. so that alone immediately makes a unique entry to the subgenre. this film stays mostly in one location for a majority of the runtime, so you don’t really see much of the unfolding apocalypse. a lot of it relies on what we hear rather than what we see, so it’s at it’s best when it’s tight. the buildup to the horror is done in a very good way. the way they decide to conclude it felt a bit rushed, however.
