Yeah, pretty much one of the greatest films ever made. Believe the hype. Top class performances. Mikes Italian girl > Mikes blonde girl. Not a lot more to be said about this absolute masterpiece.

Eu AMO cada detalhe desse filme. Eu fico mais e mais encantada todas as vezes que vejo algo sobre ele; O Poderoso Chefão é a obra mais completa que você pode assistir na sua vida. Tudo se encaixa perfeitamente, nenhuma pontinha fica solta, as atuações são DIVINAS e os diálogos são de levantar e bater palma no final. Que coisa sensacional o Coppola fez nesse filme. Nunca mais vai ter um igual.

After re-watching The Godfather, I appreciate it a lot more. At some point, I convinced myself that The Godfather is ungodly overrated. While I still think The Godfather is heavily overrated, it's not close to being mediocre. It's a good movie, there's no doubt about it, but I still don't see why everyone treats it like the best film of all time. Nothing seems overly special about the movie; it's just good. It has a good story, some good characters (and some bad), and nothing is alarmingly atrocious. However, it feels far from perfect. Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone was my favorite performance and, simultaneously, the best performance. Al Pachino and James Caan also weren't awful. I'm logging in The Godfather as a 9/10.
