I'll always appreciate Robert Rodriguez more than that piece of shit Tarantino, for reasons even somehow beyond the fact that when Michelle Rodriguez loses her eye, Robert wouldn't insist on causing the damage himself because Authenticity to hurting women. For all the complaints there might be about quality of this and its sequel...it's fucking fun. It's ridiculous, it's fun, and the top women stars (Rodriguez, especially Jessica Alba) get chances to stand out and shine without feeling exploited in ways worse names would more easily take advantage of. As an homage, Machete works. As its own effort, Machete works

I get that it's supposed to be cheesy and over the top, but at some point it really just becomes too much to bear. If you like that kind of stuff, then by all means this movie was made for you. I can usually handle it, especially if the movie is cheesy in a really fun way, but this was not fun at all.
