Diary entries forThe Wounded Man
The Wounded Man
”Hatred is the number one rule. Only that can save you.” THE WOUNDED MAN is a film that’s been on my watchlist for years now and until today, I have never been able to watch it. Maybe I wasn’t searching hard enough or maybe it’s like I always say: the film will find you when you’re ready for it. Either way, what a picture this was. It sort of went from 0-100 really quick but isn’t that how the best and worst relationships of your life usually start? Henri and Jean were incredibly compelling because you could never really tell what the other thought about the other, not even at the end. Sure, you could infer that Henri was experiencing first love or maybe intense infatuation and that Jean wasn’t being completely honest but there are moments when they were together…where I genuinely didn’t know what would happen. It was thrilling and terrifying. It also had me whispering: “Oh…ohhh. He’s just like me. Henri’s just like me fr‼️😭☝🏾” Second film today to remind me of a Richard Siken poem. If only this were available anywhere to purchase. I’d love a physical HD copy.
