Valkyrie

84/100 I am a sucker for World War II films. I’d always rate them higher than most. The tales within those 6 years are so complex and plenty, they deserve to be told on screen. It is difficult to watch a movie of such seriousness knowing that the terminal result was not fruitful. But all this makes you do it admire the bravery and the balls of the men who tried something so daring, especially that of Claus von Stauffenberg. I do not think I am being unfair when I say he is arguably one of the most courageous men to ever exist in the history of this world. The acting in this film is good and Tom Cruise I beg you to resume acting in more dramas please! Anything outside action films! You are such a great actor and with the right script you could actually get an Oscar not that you need one. This is an anxiety-inducing film throughout and it does an excellent job of appealing to the emotions. When Tom Cruise says this line - “The portrait will be unhung and the man will be hung.” If only this would’ve been true then, it would still have made a massive difference. I actually understand why this film was not successful. You can’t expect Hollywood to like something that shows an unsuccessful real life incident. They want completion and honestly so do most audiences. I however like this just the way it is.
