Another Woman
I think here we see Bergman's influence shine through the most to the point of mere mockery. But since I've been in a Bergman run these past few days having recently seen Autumn Sonata right after this one, I had no issues. Memory. Trauma. Past and present blending in with each other so seamlessly, where Gene Rowlands plays her younger self or her present tense self without notice is incredible. Time is so fluid and is shown so brilliant through this film. I'm not quite sure why this film has always been flung under the rug, but it's such a gem, with Rilke quotes and beautiful cuts and use of flashback that I think it has been added to one of my top favorites from Woody.
