Exte: Hair Extensions
Sion Sono’s distinct style with a tale of terror makes for one hell of a film. Exte: Hair Extensions has Sono’s typical style, lots of movement from the camera and “lower” grade look in budget quality that makes it seem homemade, but adds charm to the film that makes it worthwhile. It does take a bit to get into, but once this film gets going, it transforms into a monster, and an extremely fun one at that. I’ve never been bored why one of Sono’s films, and from the reviews I had seen, this one was one of his weaker, but I found myself enjoying it a lot. It’s Sono’s take on what could be an urban legend and has a good time with it, with an ending that I’m sure to not forget for a long time. I’ve grown to love Sono as a filmmaker, since his creativity has no boundaries, and is willing to cover different sides of humanity in different ways. Exte: Hair Extensions is an absolutely wild time, but one that I’d gladly watch again and again.
