I'm like a cat playing a piano. Jon Favreau's style in here is just amazing. From the cinematography to comedy, everything is as beautiful as the food they cook. The actors' chemistry is amazing and definitely present throughout the entire two hours. Chef feels incredibly authentic and heartwarming and a lot of credit goes to how Favreau clearly puts effort into his writing, directing, and acting jobs here. Chef is definitely cooked to perfection.

Fuck Twitter. Come on, get out of here. Why should I fuck Twitter? There's not that many films that can keep a huge smile on my face for practically the entire time it's on, but Jon Favreau really did manage to do it, even on a rewatch. It's pretty incredible whenever a film with such talent on such a small scale in territory we've not yet seen them attempt is any good, but with it's simplistic storyline, Chef achieves that. There's not a single person here that isn't enjoyable to watch. John Leguizamo and Bobby Cannavale are always super fucking entertaining, but even people with significantly smaller roles like Robert Downey Jr and Dustin Hoffman steal the spotlight whenever they're on screen. And with the likes of the 2010 True Grit and Jojo Rabbit, this film has what is likely some of the best child acting in such a good film. Emjay Anthony's performance felt genuine, and his chemistry with Jon and Sofía made it feel all the more authentic. It's rather obvious this was a passion project. There's clearly a lot of heart, soul, and effort in this film, and it's so clearly present in how it's presented. It feels like a somewhat edgy family road trip film at points, but with Favreau's unique flare making it all the better.

This movie is made with the element shown by Carl Casper that you love the art. This movie has made me love food more than I already do. Performances were brilliant. And Jon Favreau is a living legend. He delivered an extremely good movie.

❝I may not do everything great in my life, but I'm good at this. I manage to touch people's lives with what I do and I want to share this with you.❞ · · ───── ⊹⊱∆⊰⊹ ───── · · Chef isn't anything special in a good way. It's a simple, feel-good film with low stakes and an uncomplicated plot. The food looked absolutely incredible, and made me very hungry, but I wasn't a big fan of the characters themselves. All in all, though, not a bad use of two hours.

Love this movie. It gets sooomuch right where other films get things wrong. Is it wish fulfillment? Yeah, sure. But it gets the details right. I knew I had been fully brainwashed by the industry when watching this movie and the kid was gonna throw out the disgusting hotel pan, but Favreau tells him to keep and clean it. Everyone in the packed theater reacted with audible disgust, but I was nodding my head in agreement. Those ain’t cheap and you’re already running in razor thing margins, you don’t throw away a perfectly good 400 pan. Anyway, I miss cooking.
