The Naked City
‘There are eight million stories in the naked city. This has been one of them.’
The Naked City
Love a good noir flick where whiskey as a remedy for most gets you through the stark grit of the Big Apple. Individualism loses itself in the faces of many. A New York so full of faces that outshines a crime, so much so that it loses itself in the chase for the first half to a tidy last act that shows the sprawl of the city, the insular infinity that occurs. How can a city contain 8 million stories? Which is which to tell? To show? And in such a big city, crime is to follow. Can justice be found? How much of life can you get away with? Starts off strong, meddles in the middle but keeps up steam with ruff-n-tuff cops that barge into places without grace to spit out mean things, all to grapple with an end that takes on new heights. Busy streets, the Brooklyn Bridge, and beautiful stock footage that makes you dream of the city in better light.
