Lorenzo's Oil
βBut I promised... I promised him his world would never be silent, he would never be alone.β πββββ qοΎβ: *.β½ .* :βοΎ.ββββπ The fact that this is based on a true story makes me simultaneously marvel at medicine and scoff at the regulations that doctors are forced to work within. Lorenzo's Oil is a heartbreaking testament to the sheer willpower of parents who would do anything for their son, and their unconditional love for him and each other. Of course, it's difficult to know if every decision one makes is correct, or whether it'll pay off, but that's part and parcel of situations like this. Nick Nolte and Susan Sarandon deliver truly amazing performances, to the point where I found it difficult to watch at times. The pacing of the plot was a little slow, which made the roughly two hour run-time feel longer, but on the whole a very interesting film.
