Cuando James Gray le aplica un poco de su audacia a un tremendo cliché,  explota en esto, un drama gánster de intriga extrema, donde las estrellas brillan hasta cegarte de lo malo. Los dueños de la noche son una reliquia anticuada a la que admiras por sus formas de entretenerte y no tanto por lo que ves, reliquia por gran parte de sus anticuadas formas de construir personajes pero valorada por sus imperdibles interpretaciones.
