Diary entries forBlue Ruin
Blue Ruin
A quiet, somber film that really works with the tools it’s been given. To be honest I was confused for a good chunk of the film, but we brought it all back, we brought it on back. Great acting.
Blue Ruin
After a suggestion, it was finally time to watch Blue Ruin, a film that has been sitting in my watchlist for years. And after some time mulling over the film, I enjoyed it, but wasn’t left satisfied. From the beginning of the film, I was reminded of Kill List, and might’ve had my expectations put higher than they should have been. Blue Ruin isn’t bad by any means, I was just left dissatisfied, with many questions left over, rather than answering them. It’s a film that I will need to watch again to really appreciate, but I’m glad that I finally got the push to watch it.

Boggy Creek's Best Movies of 2014 (http://boxd.it/f5Uk) In 2014, revenge shakes the best in Jeremy Saulnier's, Blue Ruin, a high-frenzied thriller that will undeniably provoke and charge audiences. Be sure to check this independent flick out. It has a fantastic lead (Macon Blair) and an electrifying story to get you pumped. GRADE: B+
