I was laughing the entire time, and not in a good way. The acting is painful to watch, the special effects are sub-par, and the entire plot leads nowhere. I'm surprised this film is even above a 2-star average. There are so many better 80s horror movies out there. Don't waste your time watching this horribly cheesy film, pick something else instead.

The Stuff is a clumsy b-grade featuring Michael Moriarty, an actor who I ashamedly admired in Troll, with his dance scene since becoming a favorite of mine. Here he's a clutz and a bigger bucket of cringe desperate for a response. Well he gets it, but it's an average underwhelming one. Larry Cohen throws together one heated mess of cheesy bacteria, with Moriarty as the unforgiving sleazy star. The Stuff is a nonsensical and disoriented film, ultimately flopping at the absurd pacing that ejaculates on screen. For an 86 minute long film, it stoops too many times and feels quite drawn-out. There's fun in the cheesy performances and the ridiculous FX, but overall The Stuff is a silly and butterfingered experience.

βππ΅'π΄ π¨π°π°π₯ π§π°π³ πΆπ΄β¦π΅π©π¦πΊ π¬πͺππ π΅π©π¦ π£π’π₯ π΅π©πͺπ―π¨π΄ πͺπ―π΄πͺπ₯π¦.β Cohen literally said, βEAT THE RICH!β but in a freaky cannibalistic way. As my second Cohen, I love how much commentary holds in his films, to hit marks of the absurd and bizarre. A yogurt, advertised to death, to brain-dead people into group-think, creating herds and herds for a populous without an imagination. Literally could not STAND Moriartyβs performance as its filled with too many dad jokes to bear but keeps the film light and fun. Wish there was more done with the kills and makeup because good god the film poster for this is top tier.

This movie has a typical racist republican and guy that looks like Donald Trumpπππ. Despite this movie having bad editing you can clearly see in many scenes, this movie is a fun watch and it's not meant to be taken seriously. I went in expecting exactly what I got, a light hearted movie with a fun premise.
