A Hammer Film Production: Hammer Horror Ranked and Reviewed (https://boxd.it/1gohM) Count Dracula knows how to make one hell of an entrance; be it the unearthly stare or the slight smile that seeps off his mouth, this relic of a vamp is beyond question an eerie sight. Patiently, Dracula: Prince of Darkness audiences wait for the monster's arrival after his last ill-fated departure, and it doesn't disappoint—Christopher Lee is mute and frightening, even with his somewhat ridiculous set of actions that appear in the film. Lee's face when he's interrupted right before giving the female protagonist a motorboat is unintentionally hilarious. This nocturnal feast of Gothic manors and unfortunate tourists is an entertaining one, perhaps not the most rich, despite its success in certain spooks and atmosphere. The story is simple: four tourists are strangely lured into the Count's castle—after they arrive things escalate rather quickly and soon enough the survivors are outta' there. From then on, the entertainment isn't quite as fun or well stretched out for that matter, which is somewhat disappointing when Dracula is on screen the most in these moments. Nevertheless, Dracula: Prince of Darkness is mostly a satisfying supply of Gothic surroundings and spirit. 3.2/5

chuckled to myself halfway through the film when i realized i was watching the sequel and not the first christopher lee one like i wanted…still! i had such a great time with prince of darkness. christopher lee was phenomenal.
