this movie feels like being buried alive slowly but politely. it's hot, it's sticky, it's existential in the way a bad situationship is-like you could leave but you won't, and now you're just shoveling sand forever because that's easier than confronting your own irrelevance. everything is beautiful and suffocating. the allegory? perfect. the vibes? nightmarish. the sand? basically its own character. i watched this and felt like i'd been spiritually exfoliated. i think i love it. i think it hates me. we're even.
