All About Lily Chou-Chou

me in between wanting to die: wanting to listen to music on a bright sunny day in the middle of a field no way this doesn't even have 70% on Rotten Tomatoes, that's actually insane

All About Lily Chou-Chou

I blame Lily Chou-Chou and the tour girls for all the mess in this movie. And fuck the bullies. Actually i don't want to finish this movie because it's too dark and traumatizing but i stay because the actors are beautiful 😍

All About Lily Chou-Chou

i was so sure this was gonna be right up my alley but i feel really let down. not by the visuals, not by the soundtrack but by the characters and story itself. many people have said it better before me so im just gonna point to my liked reviews of this movie. i just really hate the use of women, in this case actually young girls, suffering to further the development of male characters... maybe if i let this marinate for a while i might have more to say but right now im just bummed out

"I wanna fly through the sky" This has got to be one the most prettiest movie I've ever seen, the cinematography is gorgeous and the songs are amazing. I'm now a Lilly Chou-Chou fan.

All About Lily Chou-Chou

All About Lily Chou-Chou. A romanticization of bullying and obsession with music. Thinking about it, I remember a short vidio on tiktok that said something like this: its kinda scary how your whole life depend on how you do/feel as a teenager. I guess, that's true. When I first watched it, yeah, this wasn't like the Shunji Iwai films I'd watched before. This time he made an experimental coming of age film. mencakup masa remaja yang cukup menyedihkan. dimana Yuichi menjadi korban bullying dari temannya sendiri yang berubah karena salah satu insiden yang hampir merebut nyawanya. . . Uninjured, but i'm hurt. I feel no pain. I want to see the beautiful blue sky. You said i don't understand. I said "all people die, searching for a place to belong." . Cinematography. Ciamik. bahkan jika lu taruh Shot Diladang sawah lepas itu di kamar lu sebagai poster, that would be fuckin great and aesthetic. bener bener peak cinematography, bahkan untuk credit scene!, sekali lagi, A CREDIT SCENE!

All About Lily Chou-Chou

no thoughts, just music through a walkman that transports you to the ether — green fields, endless skies, sound swelling, soul aching… really cool lighting & shots throughout. i’m not a huge shunji iwai fan but this one hit me hard. music is so intricately tied to memories. sometimes the escape itself is the very reason you need to escape

i don't care whether Lily Chou-Chou is real or not, she touched my soul this is my second watch immediately after my first. definitely one of those films that requires multiple viewings to fully appreciate its cinematography and the depth of its subversive nature, one of those emotionally resonant films
