Mississippi Burning
Taken from a true story, Mississippi, United Stated, 1964. A group of black citizens in Mississippi received massive intimidation from whites. the story conflict begins when 3 activists are killed by several mysterious KKK members so that the FBI board must intervene to handle this case. What's wrong with these people? Long story short, after Agent Anderson and Agent Ward investigate the case, they realize that there is a cruel aggressive treatment of black citizens that is cloaked by the local political council. This film emphasizes how horrible the terror of the white group (Ku klux klan) that continues to intimidate and silence black people until they dare not speak up at all. I really enjoyed when the FBI highlighted them one by one.

i can see where the critiques of this film being a portrait of the civil rights movement and race that centers its development towards the white characters while having black characters be less developed and more plot devices, but i found the lead performances to be quite solid and a definite plus to the film along with the cinematography and score. would like to see other films that tackle these subjects in a maybe more accurate way.

The juxtaposition between Dafoe and Hackman was great in this. Very well done acting by them. That was the highlight of this movie. Fucked up story that unfortunately had historical accuracy because the south was jacked up back then. Small town racists full of remorons is the tagline for this film. Nice score in this which really added to the sinister nature of the plot. Seemed rather long though and was lacking a bit in substance. Fine movie. 6.4
