Sophie's Choice

The real sophie's choice at one point was whether to continue watching it or quit, it is just so freaking long. Had I not seen this, I wouldn't have missed much except Meryl Streep's phenomenal performance but she's amazing all the time so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also not to be insensitive but I didn't have much emotional attachment to the characters, that even when in the end Nathan and Sophie did what they did, it was just like ya of course there's going to be something like this since it is such a "Hollywood movie". Also the last part with Stingo and Sophie where he says how much he loves her and gets with her and yada yada (excluding the flashback) could have been cut. Production design and some shots are cool tho. ------- Tag yourself I'm Nathan pretending to be an orchestra conductor when listening to dramatic music

La decisión de Sophie encierra a Meryl Streep en un vitrina enorme haciendola exhibir su enorme talento y respondiendo al porqué merecia ser considerada la mejor actriz del cine en ese momento, 40 años después la película nos permite reafirmar el atento que tenía y tiene aún una de las actrices más completas de la historia del cine. El desgarrador drama melodramático post guerra es una maravilla para las interpretaciones del casting completo apesar de que el protagonismo se robe el show en lo que puede ser un enorme seguimiento de monólogos extensos donde Merly Streep esta lista para salir a darla toda. La historia de amor casi a modo de resignación y odio hacia las decisiones que toma el personaje principal hacen un juicio moral que solo encojen la vida de su protagonista, la película simplemente necesitaba a Meryl Streep en el volante por que su máximo atributo es la interpretación principal y como esta hace creíble todo lo que la novela de William Styron queria decir.
