All the Empty Rooms
absolutely heartbreaking
All the Empty Rooms
If there's hope for the future, it's that someone or something better can, will come along. There's no greater condemnation of the past and the present that it just couldn't be us The best recent documentaries are like the best recent films, are like the best recent books, are like the best recent albums and games: not cries for help, not even pleas for forgiveness, but conflicted acknowledgement. Acknowledgement that there were some of us, even to the very end, that were sorry for what the rest did; and acknowledgement that sorry only goes so far. That we could have been better, and that we weren't The hope that one day the hurt will at least stop, and the wish that it doesn't because some things, some people, just shouldn't be forgotten, and at least the hurt still means they're there somewhat. You never thought you'd miss a smell until the smell's one of the last things left
All the Empty Rooms
This is breaking my heart and make me sad to seeing the children's rooms, which should have been filled with laughter, now filled with only silence and memories. And knowing the reason of these innocent children dead is making me more upset and sad. May these children now rest in peace.
All the Empty Rooms
This was brief, yet impactful. I agree with the sentiments of focusing on the victims more than the attacker and keeping their memories alive, forever. Creating this kind of media does that, and it was done tastefully - very easy to stick your whole arm into something and have it be so tone deaf, so I was a little nervous when I say Adam McKay. But in all actuality it was very special. The type of media that stays.
All the Empty Rooms
Nice try, but what a fucking cursed country
All the Empty Rooms
Let’s just say I’m glad the runtime isn’t any longer than 34 minutes.
All the Empty Rooms
Absolutamente devastador, no tardó ni dos minutos en ponerme a llorar. No puedo ni empezar a imaginar el dolor de perder a un hijo, mucho menos de esa forma.
All the Empty Rooms
não passei 1 minuto sem chorar
All the Empty Rooms
I was surprised at the complete lack of talk about gun control, even in passing. I'm not sure if this was left out in order to not alienate those who are pro-gun, but it just comes off as strange and lacking. All 4 of the bedrooms shown belonged to children who died of fully preventable deaths, I think it would have fit in perfectly with the narrative they were trying to imply. I think in leaving out politically divisive issues like gun control, you're just kind of left with a documentary interested in mourning the losses, but not actually interested in fixing the problem that caused said losses in the first place. I'm sure many people that oppose gun control laws will walk away from this documentary thinking "it's sad, but that's just the reality of living in a society that owns guns and there's nothing we can do about it." While I think the documentary is well-made besides the aforementioned, I cannot give it any higher due to these present issues

𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦.” I would’ve liked to see a quick montage of all the photos collected to really sum up the film and the project itself, but holds news bit sentiment around three children lost to school shootings. Self-contained in its running time and doesn’t release a sense of change or conclusions, but only offers minutes of mourning. All the parents cried. All kept rooms in conditions where the presence of the children remain. We’re always trying to chase after ways we can keep those lost here a little longer. It’s why we totemize so much in America’s obsession with bulk, especially within suburbs. The suburbs should be a place where safety exists, where nothing bad should happen as it’s away from crime-ridden cities, away from work, a place crafted for the comfort of what an ideal home should carry. But here, these empty rooms sit with such pungent memories that make you sick to your stomach. You really do ask yourself how many more memories of children need to accumulate to make reality a little less worrisome. But here we are with active shooter drills and multi-million dollar products to keep kids safe from school shootings when it’s really guns that even get more than millions of dollars that make America, as the world, go round. “𝘞𝘦’𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢.”
