Impossível de entender esse filme, mas eu gostei da estética grotesca e da fotografia. Elas estão bem feitas.

Begotten

“𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘩 𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘶𝘭𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥.” What happens when sight can’t be trusted and the image is obscured. Through black and white and the smoggy smudges of film grain, are those really guts pouring out? Are those really things of the dead eating away at flesh? Is that blood? Or is it the chocolate syrup slipping down the drain in Psycho? Merhige creates not a masterpiece in horror, but a distrust of sight, making you believe that this is how evil was formed on earth, in the backwoods of some forgotten cabin in the late 80s. Arrested hauntings, imprinted on the consciousness, one to dwell in nightmares. Hard to unshake after being stuck with this for what felt like hours on hours.

For me it's just very disturbing, the movie is really good at creating a very weird and disturbing atmosphere. That being said the movie is very vague and i had to go on a Wikipedia page to literally read the plot after watching the movie. If you're going to watch it, it's important to also pay attention to credits to understand the movie and who's who but the credits are at the end of the movie. It makes the movie really hard to follow. It's not for me although religious and philosophical people could have a better time watching it and getting deep into the story.
