Diary entries forExodus: Gods and Kings
Exodus: Gods and Kings
A Biblical Epic that isn't so epic. The main problem I had with this film was the length. I understand that it was an Epic, but 2 and a half hours was a long time. Scenes seemed to drag on, and I was constantly getting bored. Even the war scenes were boring! I wish that Sigourney Weaver had more screen time. Such an amazing actress only got a few scenes! I was expecting to see her in a large role, not one of the expendable roles. Altogether, Exodus Gods and Kings wasn't all that interesting. It seemed to drag on, and it wasn't as note-worthy as I hoped.

Exodus: Gods and Kings
❝You sleep well because you know that you are loved. I've never slept that well.❞ 𐄁──── 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚.────𐄁 The only other film about this story I've watched is The Prince of Egypt, so combining that with my love for Ridley Scott's previous epic Gladiator, I had high hopes for Exodus: Gods and Kings. I can't say whether this is accurate or not, but I can say that from a cinema perspective, it wasn't great. The plot dragged a lot in certain areas while rushing through others, and the script overall was merely decent. I thought Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton gave really good performances, but they were kinda weird choices, along with most of the cast. The visuals certainly were epic, and to be fair the CGI was also up to scratch. I'm quite disappointed because I was expecting a great experience from Ridley Scott, but I think I'll stick to DreamWorks' version.
