oh to have a ‘bachelor of science in interdisciplinary bullying majoring in diva behavioral science and minoring in character assassination with a master’s degree in revenge studies and currently pursuing a doctorate with a dissertation on the art of social climbing in the digital age’ like mauricia but in all seriousness this is definitely a love letter to teleseryes, especially to our beloved kontrabidas. the cameos are insane, every time it introduces a new character its just icon after icon i love it so much! i especially love that whenever gigi learns something new from the subjects taught by these kontrabidas they slowly fill up the room where they watch gigi in the real world, its soooo fun! such an incredible performance din between barbie forteza and eugene domingo, the way they deliver their lines and their acting choices are just *chefs kiss*.  the only thing that i guess wish would’ve happened is that gigi or gia fully embraced the kontrabidaness of it all because the third act felt underwhelming for me but i do still like how it turned out, its just a matter of preference. its such a fun and campy movie overall and i had the time of my life! I LOVE PHILIPPINE CINEMA!!!  also i love love love the nod they gave to ms. cherie gil truly THEE kontrabida of all time. i love you ms. cherie gil may your soul rest in peace, we are forever grateful for gracing us with your talent.

this was truly an enjoyable watch, and come to think of it, it’s an iconic and timely film too! i already knew eugene and barbie would deliver a phenomenal performance, but wow, everyone from the cast surprisingly performed excellently as well! it also kind of feels like a black mirror episode, one with many plot holes. but hey, it was a ridiculous and silly film, definitely for good vibes and teleserye fans!
