Dracula

This movie feels super long while also feeling very short, they were also working out the kinks with this as it was an early talkie and the first of the universal monster movie so it’s faults I won’t hold against it

Dracula

Really enjoyed this. Bela Lugosi has such a screen presence, he literally steals every scene he’s in. It’s a good length and feels very easy to watch. Surprisingly funny at times as well, an absolute classic.

Dracula

Dracula

The dark gloomy vibes combined with the gothic architecture are lovely, but the absence of a score makes this a bit of a snooze fest. Apparently there’s a version that has a score added to it? Interested to find that one eventually…

Dracula

Night 28 of 31 Nights of Halloween Dracula Being one of my favorite Universal Monster movies, Dracula is just amazing. There's nothing I can tell you that I dislike about this movie. It's one of the only films that I genuinely can say anything bad about. It's not scary in today's standards, but it probably was scary to the people in 1931. I love this film so much, and it gives the feel of Halloween, only a few days from now.

Dracula

There’s a hypnotic quality to this film that none of the other Universal films have, which makes it stand out among the rest. It’s a gothic masterpiece, and you can see the clear inspiration from German expressionism in lighting and sets. It’s a gorgeous and haunting feature, truly one of my favorite films of all time.

Dracula

I honestly can't believe that it has already been multiple years since I last visited Dracula. It's Halloween and you have to watch a classic monster film, so I decided that it was finally time to watch Dracula all over again. And I'm so glad that I did, since I realized how iconic it truly is. Bela Lugosi is the shining star, with his hypnotic gaze and mesmerizing performance, it's a classic for a reason. Dracula might not be the most terrifying film by today's standards, but still captures that creepy atmosphere that makes it perfect to watch on Halloween.

Dracula

Night 2 of 31 Nights of Halloween Dracula truly is one of the best films to get into the Halloween spirit. It’s gothic atmosphere makes for a creepy and extremely fun watch. I forget just how good of a film this is, which makes me want to visit the Spanish version again.

Dracula

These movies are great because they will never grow old. Granted, they are older movies, but the Universal Monster Movies helped define what monster movies were going to be in the future. Yet another classic monster movie done by Universal that is just amazing.
