Rocky IV
Rocky IV is atmospheric, emotional, and incredibly entertaining. The film relies heavily on spectacle and montage rather than profound character development, but the training scenes and the final fight are legendary. I especially enjoyed the training sequences in the USSR. Overall, Rocky IV exudes pure 80s energy and is one of the most unforgettable installments in the series.

50/100 Now I’ve heard the Director’s cut is much better so maybe I’ll watch that some other day but for now this film is all I can talk about. And yeah it’s just too dramatic with the propaganda and all but besides that I love Rocky but come on, Dolph Lundgren is literally a fucking monster of a man and plus the film made him out to be much stronger than he appears to be and just by appearances, he’s twice the size of Stallone. So yeah, unrealistic as hell unlike of course Rocky was actually practically made of iron like Drago says during their fight. And my biggest complaint is that they removed the Rocky theme man, like what the hell!

(2006). the wind rises' horikoshi jiro (2013). moonlight's chiron (2016). the way of the househusband's tatsu (2018-2023). everything everywhere all at once's waymond wang (2022). - and now, after watching the fourth installment, rocky balboa. - but, let me be real, rocky had me since the first one. 😅 - also, r.i.p., apollo. my man realized he bit off more than he could chew fighting drago. but, he went out doing what he felt he needed to do, for himself. and that was crucial.

Had to watch this for class to write a Cold War essay, massive disappointment. I kept hearing that this was in competition for the best Rocky movie but… it’s just so boring and doesn’t feel real and raw like the first 3 did. 5.5/10
