If this was the first half I might have actually said "as perfect as the first one" If this was just the last eight or ten minutes I might not have given it even a full star

grave encounters 2 obviously falls in quality from the first movie. the party scene at the beginning is so bad and cringeworthy. the first 20 minutes of the movie are not great and thats really because of Alex's annoying one note friends. (tho the scenes were they're filming there own little horror film are fine) but this movie isnt completely horrible either. about 35 minutes in once they get to the mental hospital things start to pick up. from there on its decently scary. also we can all admit the scene with the tall creature coming in through the window and chasing them down the hall is fucking freaky as shit. iconic to me. my second time watching this movie and id say if the beginning were so much better it could have been a 8 out 10. even though the beginning is very bad i'd say it deserves a 6 out of 10 for all the creepy shit that happens after they arrive at the mental hospital.

Just as I remember how good the first film was, I remember how different Grave Encounters 2ends up being, and those differences distance it from the quality of the first. It abandons the atmosphere that made the first so electric for cheap scares and paper-thin characters. While it’s nice to see the return of characters from the first film, the familiar nostalgia quickly drops off, leaving you wondering exactly why this film was made.

Grave Encounters 2 es una secuela innecesaria que traiciona el potencial de su predecesora. En lugar de expandir la historia o aportar algo nuevo, se convierte en una repetición deslucida que arruina la atmósfera inquietante del primer film. Con un guion flojo y una ejecución torpe, esta entrega no solo no asusta, sino que desmerece todo lo que la original había logrado construir. Una continuación olvidable que nunca debió existir.
