Friday the 13th
The theatrical cut of the movie is way better than the the extended “killer” cut. Yes the gore and kills of the movie are better but other than that the extended cut is just harder to watch, the sex scenes go on for way to long, the characters become less like able than they already were, and after Amanda escapes Jason the first time the movie just gets really slow. The theatrical cut isn’t a great movie either though but here are things I’ll complement on it for, the two sex scenes aren’t as awful in the extended cut, the kills/gore are still pretty good, Jason is scary as fuck compared to the previous versions, Jared Padeleki’s and Danielle Panabaker’s characters aren’t as bad as the other characters, and the supporting cast isn’t as bad as they are in the extended cut.

basically what every other reviewer has said, not unbearably bad or anything but very cliche and the vapid crass dialogue comes off more as cringey rather than intentional. i found it more enjoyable than the original and i don’t regret watching but the silent unstoppable killer thing isn’t really For Me tbh. more than anything it made me think of In A Violent Nature which i enjoyed a lot more :/

If this whole film had just been the first 15 minutes, it'd have been the best Friday the 13th film in decades, a contender for one of the best ever, and certainly one of the better modern horror remakes Shame about the other 75 minutes

when i first watched this after it came out i hated. i just rewatched it and i dont love it but its ok. jason is scary as fuck and the kills are good but also i dont like jason living in underground tunnels that he dug himself??? and setting traps and where did he get all of those lights?? wtf seriously? and lets not forget the worst and most cringeworthy parts of this movie. the sex and nudity. i have to roll my eyes. 6.2 out of 10 stars i guess

Night 26 of 31 Nights of Halloween You know, with the passing of time, I’ve actually grew more fond of Friday the 13th. I used to dismiss it, but it’s actually a quite fun film! Jason is ruthless, delivering some of his most brutal and memorable kills. The characters might be thin, but you don’t need fully fleshed out characters in a film like this. I might enjoy the original film more than this one, but I’ve grown quite fond of this one, and would love to give the full franchise another visit!

Very unique for this franchise This Jason is actually scary tho because instead of walking slowly he sprints after you lmao There is a lot of unnecessary nudity tho 😬
